The big NO-NO’s during stressful times:
We are caught in a paradox of having everything available to us, and yet our need to maintain what we have makes us slaves to the worry,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], anxiety, and yes,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], stress,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], inherent in holding on to what may no longer serve us.
•Avoid people that create a negative environment.
•Avoid or eliminate things which are stressful…this includes people.
•Become a positive thinker.
•Look at your anger, fear and challenges as an opportunity for growth.
•Create time for what you love especially if you think you don’t have time for it.
•Let Go of who you think you should be and become who you want to be.
•Compromise and let go of the power of perfectionism,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
•Accept what you can’t change.
•Forgive, others as well as yourself.
•Eat the right foods. Foods and moods are one and the same,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
Identifying Sources of Stress:
Outside of keeping a mental note of the people,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], places, and circumstances that create stress, it is a good idea to keep a notepad handy so that you can start to create a written, visual record of stressful situations, conversations, or thoughts that come up throughout your day. It is helpful to include how these stressors made you feel,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and how you reacted or responded to them. When we take the time to write things down, we internalize whether our behavior is helpful or harmful. This is just one way to start learning how to manage stress. Recognizing areas that can be improved upon and applying behavioral modifications to alleviate what doesn’t work is helpful in creating the balance that we all need in order to live a truly healthy life.
So what exactly is stress? According to Hans Selye, an MD PHD, the man who coined the phrase, “stress is a non-specific response of the body to any demand for change”. Change can be mental, physical, environmental and emotional. What this means to us is that because our life is always changing, we are always experiencing some form of stress, whether consciously perceived by us or not.
Stress Busters:
The reasons for stress are countless, but one theme rings true in all cases. Stress is simply not good for us and in most cases,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], stress is not consciously realized until a symptom or health crisis is at hand.
Health-related indicators of stress are:
•Increased heart rate
• Poor digestion ( constipation is common)
•High blood pressure
•Weight gain
•Muscle tension
•Chronic fatigue

•Impaired immune conditions
•Skin imbalances
•Hair loss

If not disposed of properly,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], it will pile up and overtake one’s life.” In that vein, and with the holidays a few weeks away (yet another stressor), I want offer some guidance on how to identify stressors and manage their effect on your life.

According to a survey by the American Psychological Association, nearly 1 in 5 test cases reached their highest stress level 15 or more days per month. That trickles down to half of a person’s life if you extend it out for the full year. Studies outside of these are constantly showing that the human body’s reaction to stress could be one of the leading causes of many life threatening diseases…including cancer and heart disease. Given these statistics, I would say we aren’t fairing too well, and our present-day health crisis in this country is proof enough.
•Alcohol (hard to avoid during the holidays. Option: limit amount)
•Exercise: If you find yourself not able to participate in your usual gym visit because times get busy grab a friend, family member or child, and walk or ride a bicycle in your neighborhood. If visiting others, ask what they do for activity and allow yourself to join them. Movement of any kind is better than none.
•Indulge in every form of relaxation technique that works for you:

Conscious discipline is all about how to approach multidisciplinary behavior,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. This conscious discipline is different from approaches that are used for only certain behaviors and it’s different from the nurodevelopmental model of the human brain that we already know of.
To have a conscious discipline is very beneficial. It helps us during our daily lives and in achieving success. By having a brain that is disciplined, we can understand the body of the brain in a better manner and understand the different behaviors that children and adults have. By having a conscious brain we are able to control our emotions and thoughts and even direct them if necessary. If we are able to do so as adults, we can pass this on to the little children in our lives so that they can benefit from conscious discipline of the mind as well.

We reached the Hospital’s emergency entrance.
I got down from the car.
The attendant immediately brought a wheel chair.
I slowly helped her to move her feet to the wheel chair and held her tightly to take her out of the car to the wheel chair.
I felt her last breath.
No questions asked , No documents required, she was admitted in the hospital. She was rushed to the emergency. Many doctors and Nurses with the best of gadgets tried to revive her for 2 hours.

At 9-30 pm she was declared dead
We reached Mumbai and went to the cargo complex. Once we cleared the papers, we were taken to the Police station. At all places we were treated with utmost compassion. Many a times we feel that since these people witness these incidents frequently, they sometimes become mechanical in handling the cases. But at every step,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], whomever we met and dealt with showed a lot of patience and care. They tried to guide us in the best possible manner. Once we got the Police clearance, we could proceed home. At last we managed the entire journey successfully.
The official mentioned that we will always do our best for people in distress. you can take the body in three days.
One person arrived in Kandura and asked are you Venkat. I said yes.
He told no need we can take her in our car as as it is less than 5 minutes drive.

The attendant at the Emergency, Doctors and Nurses at the hospital, The accountant in Dubai, the Police Officer at Naif Police Station, the attendant at the morgue were all people who reinforced our belief in humanity.
And showed us the path that doing good will always reap goodness. Similarly, the persons we encountered in India, right from Immigration to the Cargo section to the police all of them contributed more to this belief.
They were all strangers in our life and maybe we would never cross paths again but they left an indelible mark on our belief system.
The attendant said Do not panic Many people come in this stage and are recovered. I got some hope with these words
I called accountant in the morning and informed him about the tragedy. I am att Naif Police station and work on the formalities.
My faith in Humanity knew no bounds and I remembered my mother’s statement that help can come from unknown source.
Saturday we finished our work and handed over the report to the Accountant ,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. I was very happy that I could keep up the word given to my mother
I told him it is my duty towards the family in India who should have the last glimpse of mother. Whatever time it takes I am bringing mother to India.
He asked what is the action plan?.
1: everthing is predetermined , even the time and place of birth and death
2: Perform you duty according to your conscience

I contacted the doctor and asked him whether I should stop the car and do something to help my mother,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]..
We were on the road when my mother started taking deep breaths,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
The caretaker took a gel and put it on her hand and removed the bangle slowly.
On December 22 1998 evening I was at a client’s place when my mobile rang. My wife Neela told me that Mother is restless and her BP is also high. But she feels it is only gas.
Her voice was full of panic,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
23rd Morning We went to Naif police station to start the formalities and waitied for the police officer.
Saturday afternoon My mother was taken to Maktoom hospital and embalmed. We were advised to put perfume , Camphor in the coffin.
I asked whether Ambulance should be called
And asked me to come along with him
I told if my mother is restless then something is drastically wrong with her Better you take her to the nearby doctor and I would be there in 15 minutes.
My mother identified the car so we crossed the road and sat in the car.
I also had to perform my duty of preparing the report and hand over.
Suddenly there was a phone call to him enquiring about the status. Phone was given to the Police official and they spoke for few minutes.
He mentioned only thing is to rush her to the hospital.
One 18th I came home very happy and exclaimed to my mother “I am going to earn 1 lac Rupees in 1 week. I have got one of the best accounts of one of the powerful family. a simple work of preparing a report which can be finished in 1 week. Their timings are from 8 to 3 which means I can manage this urgency along with my current assignments on hand.”
I replied “ I have heard many times from my childhood. I still have to figure out how being good has helped me’
To conclude I would like to reitereate my mothers last philosophical words
For me the Defining moment of my life was My Mother’s Death in front of my eyes on December 22nd 1998
Neela was my pillar of strength and always composed and said please be relaxed. Still there is a chance as we are in the hospital
In the first week of December 1998, my parents had come to Dubai on a visit . We were having a good time .visiting malls and parks and other places.Having lot of discussions or various subjects.
I felt very touched by his action and gentleness. An unknown caretaker and yet so human to the dead.
The morgue is a place with a temperature of less than 0 degree wherein coffin size racks are kept. They opened one of the drawers for identification . .Seeing her face it appeared as though she was alive.
s My mother always felt commitment in duty is the most important in one’s life
We informed my sister ina law and my father about the sad demise,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
I explained to the person in charge that we would like to remove the bangle and Mangalsutra.
She continued calmly – “ Let me tell you three things whether you like it or not
1: everything is predetermined ,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], even the time and place of birth and death
2: Perform you duty according to your conscience
3: Humanity takes care of everybody. At appropriate times
A month later, we got a good news from the accountant that his wife is expecting a baby after 10 years of marriage. They had been taking various treatments and this time it was successful. He attributed the success to the help he rendered during the tragic event in our lives.
This news just reaffirmed what my mother always believed in.
He took us to meet the police official and started explaining our case.
To summarise : Look at my defining moment how many people unknown people helped me
It is one of the rare cases people who are alive has to wait for the dead to arrive..
we would have to go through all documentation - first with the police station and then with morgue . Embalming would be required to take the body to India.
I did not remove her bangle and mangalsutra as I felt she should wear the same,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. Until she is seen by family members.
Defining Moment
Each one of us would have had one or more defining moments in our life.
Defining moment can be explained as a very crucial moment which brings out the essential nature or character of a person
The entire episode revealed to us the true spirit of humanity. Perhaps at times we just take it for granted and cannot recognize the spirit of humanity in our day to day routines.
24th morning.
I waited with My mother by the side of the road and told her we are only going for a further check up to the hospital while Neela brought the car.
Since it was only 10 AM. We went to the companys office and continued our work
My mother always said that everybody is busy with their own work and we should try take care of everybody’s convenience.
The doctor checked her and said that there is a chance of a very very mild heart attack but now she is stable . please take her to the nearest hospital,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].for further checkup.
We got a phone call from Mumbai and they mentioned not to keep any jewellery on mother’s body.
. I told my uncle about mother’s’ death. He felt that why should we take the pain of bringing the body to Mumbai. Since I was here along with my father, we could conduct the cremation in Dubai itself. He felt it may take a long time to bring her to Mumbai
We decided to take her after 2 days on 27th being a Sunday. So that relatives who stayed away from Mumbai will get enough time to be in Mumbai
At the defining moment humanity takes care of the person in Need. I urge you all to believe in Humanity and perform your duty.
I replied “Enough of your lecture and I will perform and be good . let us enjoy this happy moment. Today for a change I will make Hot hot Bajia and Masala tea.”
I have never seen a place wherein the dead are treated as much as being alive.
I showed her the contract
She said very good. Perform very well and earn a good name. Go an extra mile . Do not fail in your duty as commitments are important. - be good , do good.
We can go to the morgue the next day to identify the body

Korea saw a nearly three-fold increase in drug-related crimes committed by foreigners in 2008 from a year ago. The government also plans a series of large-scale infrastructure expansion projects. Evocative symbols of Europe's troubled past, such as the swastika, have long been illegal in a number of countries across the continent. But now, Poland has gone one step further. Poland has revised its criminal code to include a ban on symbols of communism. And, Poles can now be fined or even imprisoned if they are caught with a red star, a hammer and sickle or even a Che Guevara t-shirt.
To some, it is a natural reaction for a country that suffered so much from communism under the Soviet Union. But these days,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], many younger Poles are more likely to see communism as a source of satirical fun and creativity.
On one of Warsaw's popular party streets, young people crowd into a bar where everything -- from the derelict retro furniture to propaganda posters -- is designed to remind you of the 1970s. There was no mention of whether the Accordance Front's six ministers would return to the cabinet.
